HBE Recognized as a Top Design-Build Firm
Engineering News-Record Ranks Firm #59 Overall
ST. LOUIS (June 19, 2014) –
HBE Corporation has been recognized as the nation's 59th largest design-build company by industry-leading publication Engineering News-Record (ENR). Furthermore, HBE maintained its position as the top healthcare-only design-build firm. This year's survey was based upon responses from more than 600 companies and is based upon 2013 projects.
During the recent recessionary period, many hospital owners believed they could achieve lower prices for their construction projects by favoring a design-bid-build strategy. However, owners have since realized that disregarding the benefits of alternative project delivery, such as design-build, oftentimes costs more in the long run.
As the market has begun to improve, to achieve greater efficiencies in the construction process, more hospitals are beginning to once again favor design-build and other alternative project delivery methods. The integration inherent in alternative project delivery methods is effective because of the common platform for design and construction. Through the complete integration of HBE's in-house team of architects, engineers and constructors, HBE continues to focus on project efficiencies. HBE's 2nd Opinion Value Comparison provides hospitals an opportunity to validate their existing plans or realize a building solution that maximizes the value of their investment. At no cost to a hospital and no interruption to their existing process, HBE will prepare an alternative design and provide a Guaranteed Lump Sum proposal to build it.
HBE Corporation is the nation’s leading design-build firm of hospital additions, renovations and new hospitals, specializing in single source project delivery. The company has completed more than one thousand projects across the U.S., building a national reputation as an integrated organization capable of executing complicated projects on time and within budget. Headquartered in St. Louis, HBE ranks as one of the significant privately held companies there with a staff that includes architects, engineers and construction experts.
