Community Memorial Hospital (CMH) in Ventura, California is another example of HBE’s alternative design approach delivering value to our health care clients. Concerned with the traditional model’s (architect and construction manager) inability to contain costs and a desired schedule, CMH allowed HBE to provide an alternative design and Guaranteed Lump Sum proposal.
HBE immediately delivered on a single phase, partial replacement of the hospital. After thorough analysis, CMH’s administration strongly approved the design and was pleasantly surprised at the $180M guaranteed lump sum price for the full project. After extensive due diligence of HBE, which included multiple site visits, HBE was awarded the replacement hospital project.
Today, the project is with the City and nearing the construction drawing stage, with a projected start date of 2010.
