ormc-keys.jpgMIDDLETOWN - The three year project that saw the construction of the new Orange Regional Medical Center is complete as the keys have been turned over to the hospital's Board of Directors.

Design-build company HBE Corporation President Fred Kummer handed the keys to Board Chairman Louis Heimbach at the 707 East Main Street campus in the Town of Wallkill.

The hospital broke ground in 2008 and is the first hospital to be built in the state in over 20 years.  It is scheduled to open this summer.

The 600,000 square foot facility on 61 acres will replace ORMC's two current campuses - Horton in Middletown and Arden Hill in Goshen.

The new hospital includes 353 private patient rooms, 50 treatment bays in the emergency room, a level two trauma center in development, neonatal intensive care unit in development, cardiology services with three cardiac cath labs and indoor cardiac rehab track and a number of other sophisticated medical amenities.
