Architect firm HBE Corporation has submitted much of the design for the new Frank R. Howard Memorial Hospital to the California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development in an effort to keep project construction on schedule. Work is expected to begin next year. Adventist Health committed last November to spend up to $61.2 million for the new facility, which will be built on East Hill Road. HBE is expected to provide a firm construction bid as part of its final design. The hospital will be two stories high, with the larger first floor containing administrative offices, kitchen and dining room, emergency room, radiology, laboratories, and four operating room suites, including 10 pre- and six post- operating beds. The second floor will host the 21 regular medical beds, four intensive care beds, the hospital pharmacy and inpatient physical therapy facilities. HBE has collaborated with Adventist Health for more than 25 years, completing more than 10 hospital projects together, according to the HBE website. |
