New three-level satellite hospital with 24 medical/surgical beds and 14 obstetrics beds for a total bed complement of 38 beds.  The obstetrics unit includes a nursery and eight LDR's.  The surgery unit provides four operating rooms, a special procedure room, recovery room and prep/hold beds.  An emergency department with 10 treatment spaces, four holding beds and imaging with two x-ray rooms, CT scan, ultrasound, nuclear medicine and a special procedures room, as well as a laboratory, dietary, pharmacy, admitting, administration, medical records and other support areas as required.  The bed tower is structured for two future floors.

A two-story orthopedic hospital attached to the main hospital includes shelled space for an orthopedic clinic, four operating rooms, nine-position recovery, nine-position prep/hold, central sterile, locker rooms, lounge, business office and a waiting room, all on the first floor.  The second floor houses a 24-bed surgical unit, inpatient physical therapy and a conference/classroom.  A corridor connects this bed unit to the Parkway North Hospital second floor bed unit.

     Parkview Hospital was faced with an initial design that exceeded a $30 Million design and construction budget for its new satellite facility, Parkview North Hospital.  Parkview asked for an HBE "Second Opinion" through the Comparative Analysis Program.
