HBE Breaks Ground on the Largest Healthcare Facility Project in Company’s History - First Replacement Hospital in New York State in Over Twenty Years
ST. LOUIS (April, 2008) –

St. Louis-based HBE Corporation broke ground this month on construction of the Orange Regional Medical Center (ORMC) in Wallkill, New York. The new seven-story, 374-bed, 621,000 sq. ft. facility will be New York State’s first replacement hospital in over twenty years. The nearly $200 million A/E/C contract represents the largest project in HBE’s history. Completion is expected March, 2011.

The new state-of-the-art, replacement hospital, located on a 61-acre site in the town of Wallkill, New York, will allow ORMC to combine two of its current hospitals – the Horton and Arden Hill campuses – under one roof. The new green field site is adjacent to the intersection of two major highways in the heart of Orange County and will provide superior access to area residents.
ORMC selected HBE based on its integrated capabilities, track record in the healthcare industry, knowledge of hospital design and expertise with similar projects.
