"It was the vision of the Board of Directors to create a new hospital. The best the independent architect, engineer, and construction manager could propose was $1 million dollars per bed. We couldn't afford that. We sent out RFP's to the top three design-build firms. Our Board of Directors ultimately selected HBE who has the most experience. We're now building a hospital for around $720,000 a bed versus the projected million dollars per bed. Another major benefit of HBE is one point of accountability.
